BeFinder is an optical fluorescence method of detecting beryllium. Beryllium from the sample is dissolved in aqueous ammonium bifluoride to which a dye solution is added and the fluorescence measured.
The sample preparation and measurement can be done manually or in an automated mode (also called High Throughput System).
BeFinder is suitable for measuring the most stringent requirements and beryllium can be quantified starting from 0.005 micrograms on the media. This can be used for wipe, air and bulk samples.
